Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union Ltd is a not-for-profit financial institution that is owned and controlled by its members. Its mission is to provide affordable financial services, including savings accounts, personal loans, mortgages, and insurance products, while promoting financial well-being within the local community. The current entity was formed in October 2022 through the merger of Athlone Credit Union (est. 1967) and Castlerea & District Credit Union (est. 1970), and it later merged with Ballinasloe Credit Union in late 2023, expanding its common bond and membership base.
