The Affiliation for Pharmacy Practice Experiential Learning (APPEL) is a collaborative body established by the three Schools of Pharmacy in Ireland: University College Cork (UCC), Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), and Trinity College Dublin (TCD). Its primary mission is to manage and coordinate the mandatory experiential learning placements for students in the 4th and 5th years of their integrated Master of Pharmacy programmes. APPEL works to ensure that students achieve the required learning outcomes set by the pharmacy regulator, the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI), by sourcing and quality-assuring placement sites in community and hospital pharmacies.
