On January 9, 2023, Bank of Kathmandu Limited officially merged with Global IME Bank Limited, creating the largest commercial bank in Nepal in terms of capital, assets, and branch network. All operations, assets, and liabilities of Bank of Kathmandu have been integrated into the new entity, which now operates under the name "Global IME Bank Limited".
