Founded by the late Rodrigo Niño, Prodigy Networks was a pioneer in the real estate crowdfunding space, leveraging the US JOBS Act to democratize access to large-scale commercial real estate investments. The company's mission was to provide a platform where individuals could pool their capital to invest in assets typically reserved for institutional investors, such as hotels and extended-stay apartments in Manhattan. Despite early success and raising over $690 million from thousands of investors, the company faced significant financial difficulties, leading to investor lawsuits and ultimately a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing in 2021 for liquidation.
