Medici Ventures

Originally founded in 2014 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Overstock.com (now Beyond, Inc.), Medici Ventures was established to oversee and manage investments in firms building blockchain-based technology. Its mission is to advance a trust-based society by supporting innovations that democratize capital and eliminate the need for traditional intermediaries. In January 2021, Overstock.com converted Medici Ventures into a limited partnership and transferred its oversight to Pelion Venture Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm, which now acts as the general partner of the fund. The fund continues to focus on supporting companies in areas such as capital markets, money and banking, and identity.
