Founded in 1997 through the merger of Jardine Insurance Brokers and Lloyd Thompson Group, Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLT) grew to become one of the world's leading providers of specialty insurance, reinsurance, and employee benefits services. The company operated two main divisions: Risk & Insurance, which focused on specialist brokerage and risk management, and Employee Benefits, which provided pensions and benefits consulting. On April 1, 2019, Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) completed its acquisition of JLT, integrating its operations primarily into MMC's Marsh (insurance broking) and Mercer (employee benefits) businesses.
