Founded in 1904, the Hebrew Free Loan Association (HFLA) of Northeast Ohio operates on the biblical principle of offering interest-free loans rather than charity. As a non-profit, non-sectarian organization, its mission is to help people overcome financial hurdles, achieve self-sufficiency, and pursue personal, educational, or professional goals. HFLA provides loans for a wide variety of needs, including small business development, education, home repairs, medical expenses, and debt consolidation, strengthening the community by providing a hand-up, not a handout.
