In developing countries, cash remains the main means of payment in every transaction, especially within the informal transportation network of shared taxis or caravans. With a large percentage of the population required to commute on a daily basis via these informal transportation services, exact fare payment remains the most challenging issue for riders and operators. By providing a fare collection application as a service (FPaaS) to the informal transportation network, our platform helps enable Mobility as a service (MaaS) for riders. This then allows users to manage payments across multiple operators using our Near Field Connection (NFC) contactless prepaid card while being charged the ‘best fare’ after their journeys.
