European Payments Council (EPC)

Founded in 2002, the European Payments Council (EPC) is an international, not-for-profit association that serves as the coordination and decision-making body for the European payments industry. Its primary mission is to support and promote the integration and development of payments within Europe. The EPC is best known for developing and managing the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) payment schemes, including the SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT), SEPA Instant Credit Transfer (SCT Inst), and SEPA Direct Debit (SDD) schemes, which have harmonized electronic euro payments across 36 European countries.
