Botswana Unified Revenue Service

The Botswana Unified Revenue Service (BURS) was established by the BURS Act of 2004 and became operational on August 1st, 2004. It is a semi-autonomous organization responsible for assessing and collecting specified taxes, administering and enforcing tax laws on behalf of the Government of Botswana. Its core mission is to optimize revenue collection through efficient, transparent, and fair administration of tax and customs laws, thereby contributing to the economic development and prosperity of the nation.
