AmGeneral Insurance Berhad has been a leading general insurance provider in Malaysia for over 50 years. Formerly a joint venture between AmBank Group and Insurance Australia Group (IAG), the company was well-known for underwriting a diverse range of general insurance products for individuals and businesses through its respected brands, Kurnia and AmAssurance. In July 2023, AmGeneral was acquired by Liberty Insurance Berhad. This acquisition has positioned the combined entity as a leading force in the Malaysian insurance market, particularly in motor insurance, while continuing to serve customers through the established AmAssurance and Kurnia brands alongside Liberty's own offerings.
