Tezos

Tezos is a self-upgradable and energy-efficient Proof of Stake blockchain platform for assets and applications. It was co-founded by Arthur and Kathleen Breitman and launched its mainnet in 2018 after a highly successful Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in 2017. The project's mission is to provide a secure, institutional-grade platform for smart contracts and decentralized applications, distinguished by its formal on-chain governance mechanism that allows stakeholders to vote on protocol upgrades. The Tezos Foundation, a Swiss non-profit, was established to promote the Tezos protocol through grants and other capital deployment vehicles.
