SharesPost

Founded in 2009, SharesPost pioneered the private securities market, creating a platform to provide liquidity and transparency for shareholders and investors in pre-IPO companies like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn before they went public. The firm operated as a FINRA-registered broker-dealer and offered a suite of services including a secondary trading marketplace, research on private tech companies, and management of private investment funds. In 2020, SharesPost was acquired by Forge Global, a major competitor in the private securities space. The combination of the two companies created a dominant player in the private market, and the SharesPost brand and platform were subsequently integrated into Forge Global.
