Founded in 2017, Ribbon's mission is to make homeownership more achievable for everyone. The company became known for its flagship product, the "RibbonCash Offer," which enabled homebuyers to make all-cash offers on homes, strengthening their negotiating position. This service involved Ribbon purchasing the home on the buyer's behalf, who would then secure a mortgage to buy the home back from Ribbon. In late 2022 and early 2023, the company underwent significant restructuring, including major layoffs, and announced it was pausing its cash offer product in most markets while it transitions to a new service offering.
