RentCrowdy was a financial technology ("proptech") company that aimed to democratize real estate investment in Nigeria. The platform enabled individuals to pool their funds (crowdfund) to collectively purchase and own rental properties, thereby lowering the barrier to entry for real estate investment. Sponsors (investors) would earn returns from the rental income generated by the properties they co-owned. The company ceased operations, and its website now confirms that the platform is permanently closed, with a notice stating that all sponsors' capital has been successfully returned.
