Founded in 1998, Fortress Investment Group LLC is a major global investment management firm with a diversified portfolio across a range of asset classes. The company manages assets in areas such as credit, real estate, private equity, and permanent capital. Its mission is to provide its investors with attractive risk-adjusted returns by identifying and capitalizing on investment opportunities worldwide. Originally a private equity firm, Fortress became the first large U.S. private equity and hedge fund manager to go public in 2007. It was acquired by SoftBank Group in 2017 and subsequently acquired by Mubadala Investment Company and Fortress management in 2023.
