Founded in 2016, Finrise, Inc. aimed to make veterinary and other pet-related healthcare more affordable for pet owners by offering accessible financing options at the point of service. The company developed a platform that allowed veterinary clinics to offer their clients flexible, manageable payment plans for treatments and procedures. In February 2022, Finrise was acquired by Wag Labs, Inc. (now Wag! Group Co.), the operator of a leading mobile-first marketplace for pet services. Wag! acquired Finrise to integrate its financing technology into a new suite of "Wellness" products, enabling Wag! to offer its users options like pet insurance and financing for wellness plans directly through its platform.
