Founded in 1946, Credit Union Australia (Cua) grew to become Australia's largest credit union. As a member-owned institution, its mission has been to provide competitive financial products and services, with profits being returned to members through better rates and lower fees. In 2021, Cua underwent a major rebranding to become Great Southern Bank. The change was made to better reflect its national presence and appeal to a broader range of Australians beyond its traditional credit union member base, while maintaining its customer-owned principles. The bank offers a full suite of personal banking products including loans, savings accounts, credit cards, and insurance.
