Central Bank of Chile

The Central Bank of Chile is an autonomous body of constitutional rank, with its own legal status, assets, and technical character. Established in 1925, its primary objectives are to safeguard the stability of the Chilean peso and to ensure the normal operation of internal and external payment systems. Its key functions include conducting monetary policy, regulating the financial and capital markets, issuing banknotes and coins, managing international reserves, and acting as a fiscal agent for the government.
