Launched in 1997, BPAY is a widely used payment service in Australia that provides an easy and secure way to manage bill payments. It was founded by a consortium of major Australian banks to create a unified bill payment platform for consumers. Today, BPAY is part of Australian Payments Plus (AP+), the country's domestic payment organization that also includes eftpos and Osko. The service allows customers to pay bills from thousands of registered businesses using a unique Biller Code and Customer Reference Number (CRN) directly from their own bank account, ensuring a simple and secure transaction process.
