Founded in 2003, Blue Mountain Capital Management was a prominent multi-strategy hedge fund manager with a primary focus on credit markets, including structured finance products, credit derivatives, and distressed debt. The firm was known for its sophisticated approach to risk management and relative-value investing. In 2019, after a period of performance challenges, Blue Mountain announced it would be closing its flagship hedge fund. Subsequently, its asset management platform, team, and certain funds were acquired by Assured Guaranty Ltd. and rebranded as Assured Investment Management LLC.
