Bitcoin Private

Bitcoin Private (BTCP) was launched in 2018 as a community-driven project aiming to combine the privacy features of Zclassic (using zk-SNARKs) with the security and brand recognition of Bitcoin. It was created by forking the Bitcoin blockchain and merging it with the Zclassic blockchain, a process called a "fork-merge." The project's goal was to provide a decentralized, open-source, and private digital currency. However, its reputation was severely damaged by the discovery of a covert premine, and development has since ceased, rendering the project effectively defunct.
