Georgia Bank and Trust

Founded in 1989, Georgia Bank and Trust Company of Augusta was a prominent community bank dedicated to serving the financial needs of individuals and businesses in Augusta, Georgia, and the surrounding Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). The bank grew to become one of the largest and most respected locally-owned financial institutions in the region, offering a comprehensive suite of services including personal banking, business banking, mortgage lending, and wealth management. In 2017, its parent company, Georgia-Carolina Bancshares, Inc., was acquired by South State Corporation, and Georgia Bank and Trust was subsequently merged and rebranded into South State Bank.
