The Fonds de Garantie des Dépôts et de Résolution de l'UMOA is a public-interest entity established by the Council of Ministers of the West African Monetary Union (UMOA). Its primary mission is to protect the customers of banks and financial institutions within the UMOA zone by guaranteeing their deposits up to a certain limit in the event of an institution's failure. Additionally, it serves as the resolution authority, responsible for managing the orderly resolution of failing banks to prevent systemic crises and maintain public confidence in the financial system.
