DepositSafe

Launched in July 2012, DepositSafe is one of the three government-approved schemes in Scotland designed to protect tenancy deposits. The service is provided by Computershare Investor Services PLC. Its core mission is to safeguard deposits for the duration of a tenancy and offer free, impartial Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services to resolve any disagreements about the deposit's return at the end of the tenancy. It provides both Custodial (where the scheme holds the deposit money) and Insured (where the landlord holds the deposit but pays a protection fee) options for landlords and letting agents.
