Founded in 2015, CROWDE was a financial technology company based in Indonesia focused on the agricultural sector. Its mission was to empower local farmers by providing them with access to capital for their projects, which they often struggled to obtain from traditional financial institutions. The company operated a peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platform where retail and institutional investors could fund specific agricultural projects, creating a mutually beneficial ecosystem. CROWDE aimed to improve farmer welfare, increase agricultural productivity, and offer an alternative impact investment opportunity, until its license was revoked by the regulator in late 2023.
