Founded in 2013, CardX specializes in providing a technology platform that allows businesses to pass on credit card processing fees to their customers, a practice known as surcharging. The company's mission is to automate compliance with the complex network of state laws and card brand regulations that govern this practice, thereby eliminating processing costs for merchants. In November 2021, CardX was acquired by Stax, another prominent payment technology provider, and now operates as "CardX, a Stax Company."
