Atlas ATS, LLC was launched in 2014 as an institutional-focused cryptocurrency exchange, operating as a joint venture with the National Stock Exchange (NSX). The platform was designed to offer a secure, regulated, and high-performance trading environment for institutional investors to trade digital currencies like Bitcoin. Despite its ambitions to bridge the gap between traditional finance and the nascent crypto market, the company struggled with low trading volume and high operational costs, leading to its shutdown in February 2016.
