Annapurna Finance was established to serve the economically backward sections of society by bringing them into the mainstream and providing need-based financial services at their doorstep. Its mission is the socio-economic empowerment of poor women through financial inclusion. The organization started as a not-for-profit in 2009 and transformed into a non-banking financial company (NBFC-MFI) in 2013, registered with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). It primarily offers micro-loans, along with other financial products and services, to a client base that is almost entirely female.
