American Medical Collection Agency (AMCA) was a third-party debt collection agency founded in 1977. As a subsidiary of Retrieval-Masters Creditors Bureau Inc., AMCA focused exclusively on the healthcare industry, serving major clients like Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp, and various hospital systems by managing their patient accounts receivable. The company's history is now defined by a massive data breach discovered in March 2019, which exposed the personal and medical information of over 20 million individuals. The catastrophic financial and legal fallout from this breach led the company to file for bankruptcy and permanently cease all operations in June 2019.
