Able Lending

Founded in 2013 by Will Davis and Evan Baehr in Austin, Texas, Able Lending was a financial technology company that operated as a marketplace lender. Its unique model, termed "collaborative lending," encouraged small business borrowers to raise a portion of their loan from their own network of friends, family, and supporters (backers). By securing these backers, the borrower could unlock the remainder of the loan from Able's marketplace at a lower interest rate. The company aimed to provide more affordable capital to small businesses than traditional banks. In November 2017, Able Lending was acquired by the global small business lending platform, Funding Circle, and its brand and operations were subsequently absorbed.
