Founded in 1984 as the "Central de Custódia e de Liquidação Financeira de Títulos," Cetip S.A. operated as a key financial market infrastructure company in Brazil. Its core business was to provide services for the registration, custody, trading, and settlement of a wide range of assets, primarily private fixed-income securities and OTC derivatives. In March 2017, Cetip merged with BM&FBOVESPA (the Brazilian stock and derivatives exchange) to create B3 S.A. - Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão. Today, B3 is one of the world's largest financial market infrastructure companies, combining exchange and OTC activities, and offering integrated services for trading, clearing, settlement, depositary, and data services.
