Founded in 2008 and based in Silicon Valley, Boom Financial, Inc. was a fintech startup that developed a mobile banking service designed to serve immigrant communities in the United States. The company's primary mission was to provide a safe, convenient, and affordable way for users to send cash from the U.S. to family and friends in other countries, such as Mexico and the Philippines, using only a mobile phone. By leveraging mobile technology, Boom aimed to bypass traditional, more expensive remittance channels. Despite raising venture capital, the company ceased all operations and shut down in May 2015.
