Afirme Grupo Financiero (AIG sold the company to Afirme)

Founded in 1995 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Afirme Grupo Financiero is a Mexican holding company that provides a wide range of financial products and services through its specialized subsidiaries. Its core operations include commercial banking (Banca Afirme), insurance (Afirme Seguros), leasing (Afirme Arrendadora), factoring (Afirme Factoraje), and investment funds. The group aims to satisfy the diverse financial needs of its clients across Mexico. In a significant expansion move in 2009, Afirme acquired AIG Universal, the Mexican consumer finance operations of the American International Group (AIG), further strengthening its position in the personal and consumer credit market.
