Acala Network

Acala is a layer-1 smart contract platform that is scalable, Ethereum-compatible, and optimized for decentralized finance (DeFi). The network serves as a parachain on the Polkadot network, having secured its slot in the first-ever Polkadot parachain auction in 2021. Its mission is to provide the foundational infrastructure for a robust DeFi ecosystem, offering a suite of financial primitives including a decentralized stablecoin (aUSD), a trustless staking derivative (LDOT), and an automated market maker (AMM) DEX. With its EVM+ environment, Acala allows developers to leverage both the Ethereum and Substrate development stacks, aiming to be the primary liquidity and DeFi hub of the Polkadot ecosystem.
