The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission (BVI FSC) is the autonomous regulatory authority responsible for the oversight, regulation, and supervision of the financial services industry in the British Virgin Islands (BVI). Established in 2001 through the Financial Services Commission Act, the BVI FSC's mission is to safeguard the interests of the public and the financial services industry's integrity in the BVI by promoting stability, public awareness, and investor confidence. The BVI FSC has a comprehensive scope of regulatory authority over banking, insurance, trust business, company management, mutual funds, and insolvency services, as well as the incorporation of companies. It is charged with the responsibility of monitoring compliance with the regulatory and legal framework, licensing and supervising financial institutions, enforcing regulatory and compliance standards, and taking corrective measures or imposing penalties on entities that violate the laws.
