Mortgage Mates is an innovative online platform that uses a unique algorithm to match like-minded individuals to each other to co-purchase properties together. By entering a range of preferences including location, property type and price, Mortgage Mates matches individuals based on similar housing preferences. Through the facilitation of this match and by providing co-ownership agreements, Mortgage Mates enables “mates” to enter the property market together with less financial risk and in half the time. Did you know we are currently more expensive than New York to buy a home in? Before Covid19 even existed Melbourne and Sydney were two of the world’s most expensive cities to buy, rent or live in. Because of this over six million young people are priced out of the property market in Australia. * Our Mates are facing intergenerational wealth divides. * Are likely to be severely impoverished at retirement if they don’t own a home. * Are facing unstable finances later in life * Suffer increased anxiety about the future. In its initial stages, Mortgage Mates is a website but we have views to develop an App in the future. Currently, we have worked alongside three software developers to design and created an MVP website that has been in the testing phase since June 2019. The second version of our website went live on 20/09/20 and has already had significant interest from users. To date we have signed formal contracts with third parties including builders, real estate and mortgage brokers, formalising referral fees for us following the purchase of a home. We have active users, increasing website visitors and have received recognition from multiple media and start-up sectors.
