California Pensions

The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) is an agency in the California executive branch that manages the pension and health benefits for more than 2 million California public employees, retirees, and their families. Established by legislation in 1932, it is the largest public pension fund in the United States, managing a global investment portfolio worth hundreds of billions of dollars. Its mission is to deliver the benefits members have earned and to provide retirement and health security for those who serve California.
