European Energy Efficiency Fund (eeef)

Launched in July 2011, the European Energy Efficiency Fund (eeef) is an innovative financial institution initiated by the European Commission in cooperation with the European Investment Bank (EIB). It operates as a public-private partnership with the primary mission to mitigate climate change by providing dedicated financing for energy efficiency, small-scale renewable energy, and clean urban transport projects. The fund targets municipal, local, and regional authorities and public-sector entities within the European Union, aiming to support the EU's environmental and energy objectives. It is structured as a Société d'Investissement à Capital Variable - Fonds d'Investissement Spécialisé (SICAV-SIF) under Luxembourg law.
