These tools helped insurance companies, pension funds, and other financial institutions to measure and manage their long-term financial risks and meet regulatory requirements like Solvency II. The company became a global leader in its niche, renowned for its financial modeling expertise. In December 2011, Barrie & Hibbert was acquired by Moody's Corporation and its products and staff were integrated into the Moody's Analytics Enterprise Risk Solutions business, where its legacy continues to form a core part of their insurance software portfolio.
