The Sandbox

The Sandbox is a virtual world and user-generated content ecosystem built on the Ethereum blockchain. A subsidiary of Animoca Brands, it empowers players and creators to build, own, and monetize their virtual experiences and assets (as NFTs) using the platform's main utility token, SAND. The ecosystem consists of three main components: VoxEdit, a 3D voxel modeling package for creating in-game assets; the Marketplace, for buying and selling these assets; and the Game Maker, which allows users to create 3D games and experiences without needing to code. The company's mission is to build a deeply immersive metaverse where virtual worlds and games will be created collaboratively and without a central authority.
