Sa-Dhan is a pioneering association of community development finance institutions, established in 1998 to support and strengthen the microfinance sector in India. In 2015, it was officially recognized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as a Self-Regulatory Organisation (SRO) for Microfinance Institutions (MFIs). Its mission is to build the field of community development finance in India to help its members better serve low-income households, particularly women, in their quest for establishing stable livelihoods and improving their quality of life. Sa-Dhan focuses on policy advocacy, capacity building for its member institutions, and promoting responsible finance through a universally accepted Code of Conduct.
