Founded in 2014, Poloniex is one of the older cryptocurrency exchanges in the market. It gained popularity for its extensive selection of altcoins, offering spot and margin trading, futures, and lending services. Originally US-based, it was acquired by Circle in 2018 and later spun out in 2019 to form a new, non-US-focused international company, Polo Digital Assets, Ltd., with backing from an Asian investment group. The platform is known for its advanced trading features, including detailed charting tools and a comprehensive API for algorithmic traders.
