Meter.io is a decentralized infrastructure project designed to scale and connect the financial internet. It operates as a high-performance sidechain compatible with Ethereum, allowing for faster and cheaper transactions. The network uses a unique hybrid consensus mechanism, combining HotStuff-based Proof of Stake (PoS) with Proof of Work (PoW) to create its low-volatility gas currency, MTR. This dual-token system also includes a governance token, MTRG. The project's mission is to provide a highly decentralized, stable, and interoperable platform for developers to build DeFi applications and connect assets across various blockchains.
