Gitcoin is a community-driven organization dedicated to supporting open-source software and digital public goods. Originally a project within ConsenSys, it spun out in 2021. Its mission is to empower communities to build and fund shared needs through innovative mechanisms like Quadratic Funding, which amplifies the impact of smaller donations. The platform primarily serves the Ethereum and broader Web3 ecosystem, helping developers earn by working on open-source projects through grants, bounties, and hackathons, thereby fostering a more collaborative and sustainable digital infrastructure.
