Founded in 2014, FitPay, Inc. created a business-to-business (B2B) platform to add contactless payment capabilities to wearable and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The company's technology managed payment network tokenization through services like Visa Token Service and Mastercard Digital Enablement Service, allowing device manufacturers to seamlessly integrate secure, NFC-based payment features into their products. In 2017, FitPay, Inc. was acquired by Garmin Ltd. and now operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary. Its technology is the core foundation for the Garmin Pay™ contactless payment feature found in many Garmin smartwatches and devices.
