First State Super

Originally established in 1992 as First State Super to serve NSW public sector employees, the fund has since grown to become one of Australia's largest superannuation funds. In September 2020, it rebranded to Aware Super. The fund operates on a "profit-for-member" model, meaning profits are returned to members rather than shareholders. Through mergers with VicSuper and WA Super, it has expanded its membership base, which includes employees from sectors like health, education, and emergency services.
