FG New America

FG New America Acquisition Corp. was a blank-check company, also known as a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC), formed for the purpose of effecting a merger, capital stock exchange, asset acquisition, or similar business combination. The company completed its Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange in September 2020, raising capital to acquire a company primarily in the financial technology or financial services industry. In July 2021, FG New America successfully completed its business combination with Opportunity Financial, LLC ("OppFi"), a leading financial technology platform. Following the merger, the combined entity was renamed OppFi Inc. and began trading under the ticker "OPFI", at which point FG New America Acquisition Corp. ceased to exist as a separate entity.
