FedLoan Servicing was one of the nation's largest servicers of federal student loans, operated by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA). Established to manage and collect payments on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, it was notably the exclusive servicer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. In 2021, PHEAA announced it would not be renewing its federal contract. Consequently, FedLoan Servicing concluded its operations in December 2022, and all student loan accounts were transferred to other federal servicers such as MOHELA, Aidvantage, Edfinancial, and Nelnet.
