Founded in 1975, Eurofidi S.c.p.a. was a leading "consorzio di garanzia fidi" (credit guarantee consortium) in Italy and Europe. Its primary mission was to facilitate access to credit for SMEs by issuing guarantees to banks and financial institutions on loans granted to its member companies, thereby reducing the risk for lenders. After facing significant financial difficulties, the company was placed into "liquidazione coatta amministrativa" (compulsory administrative liquidation) by the Bank of Italy in late 2017 and is no longer operational. The entity now exists solely to manage the liquidation process.
